Sick kids stink!

I don't know if you've ever been a parent, but I'm here to tell you that sick kids stink. You love your kids so much that you don't want them to have pain or suffer, and when they are sick, I think that feeling is even stronger.

On the way home from church today, Abigail threw up in our van. (Make's you want to ride with us, huh?!) Bless her heart, what a place to get sick. She's down for the count with fever and aches and chills and everything else. Please pray for her and for us.

It's too bad this happened on a holiday weekend. Ah, tis life sometimes. If it can happen, it will, and when you you least expect it, that's when life in this flawed, fallen world hits.

Know that if you have sick kids, I feel your pain. We all have to go through it from time to time. But I'm reminded that God sees us and is with us, even through the pain. I'm glad that He doesn't flee when we're in need of Him more.

Praying for a sick-free week...for all of us.

Kick-off

On a tip from a friend in the ministry, I've decided to blog a couple of times a week. Tim blogs about twice a week and his people love it. I guess it's because you get to see a pastor "unplugged", just being himself. No preaching, no teaching, just blogging thoughts, ideas, and talking about my life. My life is interesting, I suppose. We'll see how interesting it is to some as time goes on.

I'm excited about the days ahead. There has never been a time in my life where I have felt so driven with vision and passion and yet so humbled that God would use me in spite of myself. I think that there's a balance where God tries to keep His servants. Humbled yet confident. Broken yet together. These paradigms aren't what the world looks at for leadership. But God chooses leaders that will give Him all the glory. It just goes to show that it doesn't really matter who you are but whose you are when you serve the King.

Exciting days ahead...I can't wait!
